Well, my favorite commercial would be the Geico Gecko Commercials. These commercials are my favorite because it has a comedy in it. It makes me laugh when I see them. They’re in an office, and talk about how Geico works and how it can help you. A man is speaking to a Gecko. Which is not really possible in real life.
The man is telling the gecko to tell people how Geico is a trustable car insurance company. At the end there’s this guy saying “Geico, 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance.” They always have that after every commercial that Geico has. So, to me it’s ongoing characters or celebrity.
One, because they’re using a gecko. If you hadn’t noticed, they’re names are almost alike, Geico and Gecko. So, people would know that the commercial is about Geico because of that, also. So, yeah that’s my favorite commercial! Here is one of the videos:
On our project, our historical figure was Mr. Marciano “Mark” Vega Pangilinan. My partners were Jonathan and Jhezaryn. We were’nt familiar with Mr. Pangilinan, but Jonathan said he knew him. So we thought we could interview him in person, but he couldn’t get a hold of him. So, we had to research and interview people who knew him.
We could’ve done a lot of things differently. Starting off with the website design. We could’ve made it a little nicer. We could’ve looked for a layout that would fit the historical figure. We could’ve chosen a different historical figure. Someone with more information. Someone who was actually known by a lot of people. Like Magellan, he was our first choice anyways. We could’ve searched for more pictures of him. Interviewed one of his employees at one of his stores.

If I could research a historical figure it would be the Wright Brothers. Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright. I would want to know how they made the airplane. What inspired them to make it. How long it took.
I would also want to know how much money they made. It must’ve been a lot. I would want to know how many tries it took to make it perfect. How they were able to make it fly. That’s why I would want to research about them.
In our group assignment we had to make a chart and graph for California’s theme parks. The theme parks were DisneyLand, Universal Studios, Six Flags, and California’s Great America. The highest price for a family of four was DisneyLand. The cheapest one was California’s Great America. So, if a family of four was on a budget and is on a vacation to go to a theme park, I would recommend Six Flags.
One reason why I chose Six Flags is because its not too expensive and not too cheap. The website was pretty acttracting. Maybe it’s not as good as DisneyLand, but it’s good enough. I didn’t choose California’s Great America because it’s too cheap. Even though I never went there, their website looks pretty boring. So, the theme park that I choose is SIX FLAGS!!
On January. 21, 2009 , Wednesday , we had a bullying workshop. Our class went to the library first. The “VARO” presented a presentation about bullying. They taught us how to avoid being bullied or prevent it. If someone is bullying you, just say something short. Like ” Can you please stop this? I’ve had enough.” Then, just walk away. If you say something like “You want to fight ? Come on!” Than of course the bully will want to bully you some more . So avoid doing anything like that. You can also tell an adult. Your parents, teachers, counselors & they’ll be sure to help. If you see anyone being bullied than tell someone. You won’t be a snitch, it’s doing the right thing. Some people who are being bullied are depressed & scared. They would want to kill themselves. The people who bully, they might be bullied at home so they’re doing it to other people. They showed pictures of people who have been bullied and what they do to themselves. They either sit in the corner and cry or cut themselves. If you want help , VARO said that you can call them and they’ll help you with no charge.
There are different types of bullying. They are cyber bullying, sexual harrassment, physical bullying ( like beating people up ) , threatening you, giving you notes & other ways. Cyber bullying is when they bully you through the internet. Like if they send you a message through Myspace or Facebook and it’s kind of like “I hate you. I’m going to beat you up.” That’s cyber bullying. Sexual Harrassment is like touching you in places you don’t want to be touched roughly. Physical bullying is like when they punch you, kick you and push you. Threatening is well when they tell you that they’re going to beat you up.

Describe the steps of taking good pictures. Use at least 10 digital vocabulary words.
You can take a good picture by trying to keep your hands steady. Don’t vibrate your hands or something or it’s just going to make your picture blurry. That’s definitely not a good picture. If you’re taking a macro picture, you have to zoom it in. Some cameras, if you zoom it in too close, than it will blur. So try not to zoom it in that much if it’s making your picture blurry. Also, if you’re going to take a picture with high contrast, than try changing you’re camera’s contrast.
When you press the shutter half way, it auto focuses the photo you are taking. The back lit is the screen behind the camera that shows the picture you took. Pixelization is when your picture has small boxes. Like when you edit your picture. You can use that as an effect. The most common effect when you take a picture is the red eye. It makes your eyes red. The thumbnail is a small version of a large file. When you save it into a computer some might be thumbnails. The viewfinder is the small square that you look through. It’s eye leveled. You look through it to compose the image. The exposure is the amount of light that reaches your image.
There were 36 responses in my survey. I chose those questions for my survey because I wanted to keep it short and simple. Also, because I didn’t know what to put. I thought the answers were pretty interesting because quite a few had weird answers. Here are the results- Question one said “How are you liking school?” Twelve people said I love it, two people said I hate it, fifteen people said it’s okay, and seven people said I don’t know. Question two said “Which is your favorite shoe brand?” Ten people said Nike, zero people said Jordan, eighteen people said Converse, and eight people said none of the above. Question three was “What is your favorite color?” Well, they all said different kinds of answers but the most common color that they answered was black, I think.
The best survey for me was Ritacia’s. It was really fun to do and the questions were so funny. Amber’s own was also very nice. It was really fun to do. So, that’s it. Bye! (:
Untalan Middle School had Halloween Activities. We also had Spirit Week. On Friday, Oct.31,2008, we had the activities. We had a dance in the gym. The students who didn’t go to the dance had to go to either the Movie, Twilight Party, Detention, Study Hall or the board games. Well, I went to the movie in 7A, held by Ms. Marquez. We watched the movie called “How to eat Fried Worms”. It was kind of boring. We couldn’t talk. It was dark and I wanted to sleep. Well, that’s what I saw.
Shaira S. is the student I interviewed. When she went to the Twilight party, they ate yummy food. They had games, picture taking, and she forgot what else they did. She had a good time. They’re theme was black and red. She got scared because when she got in the classroom it was dark and everything was black and red. They had music from Twilight. It was held by Ms. Rivera, in team 7B. She got mad because her classmate CJ won the book she wanted, but she had a good time anyways. She’s good. Thank you & have a nice day (:
